Role Summary

We are searching for the best talent to join our Surgery R&D process team as a Strategy & Execution Director - Innovation productivity to help transform Surgery R&D processes. This role will lead high-impact initiatives that accelerate innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and integrate emerging technologies into core workflows. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership, bringing deep expertise in strategy, execution, and change management within complex, matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Innovation Productivity to shape and execute strategic initiatives that elevate R&D productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional programs focused on process optimization, digital transformation, and innovation acceleration.
  • Design and implement frameworks to assess and improve product development and lifecycle maintenance processes.
  • Identify and apply emerging technologies (e.g., AI, advanced analytics) to streamline operations and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across R&D, Supply Chain, PPMG, Quality, Clinical, among other functions.
  • Monitor industry trends and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Present strategic recommendations and performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Required: 10+ years of experience in strategy, innovation, or process improvement roles, ideally within MedTech or healthcare.
  • Required: Proven success leading enterprise-wide initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Required: Background in MedTech R&D
  • Required: Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Required: Experience with AI, data analytics, and digital tools for productivity enhancement.
  • Preferred: Experience in designing, developing, or launching products within an FDA-regulated environment
  • Preferred: Understanding of surgery, surgical procedures, and the design and application of surgical devices, as well as the quality system / regulatory environment
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Design control principles.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Location: Raritan, NJ; Cincinnati, OH; Irving, TX.
  • Travel: Up to 20% (domestic/international).
