General Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager leads Category Management activities, including development and execution of sourcing strategies, RFx development, competitive bid analysis, contract development and negotiation planning, and ongoing strategic supplier management for specific spend categories. Partners with business stakeholders to define initiatives, uses market research for benchmarking, and supports optimization of sourcing processes to reduce delivery time and costs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Category Management for complex category areas: sourcing strategies, strategic supplier relationship and performance management, plus tactical RFx.
- Use e-Sourcing tools to support sourcing activities and analysis.
- Drive sourcing strategy and cost reduction initiatives.
- Conduct market research and synthesize data into actionable formats.
- Manage supplier performance/relationship management, including Executive Business Reviews (pre-reads, action items, follow-up) and ensure supplier performance dashboards are completed.
- Identify sourcing risks and coordinate with risk SMEs to develop mitigation plans.
- Manage the RFx end-to-end: requirements, RFP drafting, facilitation, negotiation of terms/pricing, and support execution of supplier agreements.
- Develop annual cost savings targets with business partners and Finance.
- Lead complex price/terms negotiations with internal stakeholders (including Legal).
- Create negotiation planners for alignment.
- Mentor junior sourcing colleagues/temporary workers/co-ops.

Knowledge/Skills:
- Deep Category Management and Strategic Sourcing expertise (RFx, negotiation, contracting, supplier performance, stakeholder management).
- Proficient Microsoft Office; strong ERP knowledge; e-Sourcing tools; business intelligence/reporting (Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong analytical and PowerPoint skills; benchmarking.
- Continuous improvement knowledge (e.g., Pareto charts, flow diagrams).
- Project management; ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously.
- Strong communication; comfortable leading senior-level meetings.
- Contract law knowledge to advise on contractual risks.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Typically 6+ years sourcing experience (ideally pharmaceutical/biotech), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
