      Role Summary
 Strategic Sourcing Manager for Capital Construction & Equipment. Support the sourcing strategy, develop and execute the sourcing plan, and manage supplier relationships to optimize cost, performance, and risk aligned to business objectives.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 - Develop and implement global strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk management
 
 - Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management (end to end) to ensure best-in-class procurement practices
 
 - Analyze large datasets related to procurement, supplier performance, and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
 
 - Use value tracking and data analytics tools to generate insights, create reports, and support strategic decision-making
 
 - Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives; act as a trusted advisor and thought leader with accountability to leaders
 
 - Understand and influence business needs to drive procurement strategies that support enterprise priorities
 
 - Establish and manage key supplier relationships to enhance quality, innovation, and long-term value
 
 - Ensure compliance with procurement policies, risk mitigation strategies, and sustainability initiatives
 
 - Work effectively with internal partners and suppliers, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills
 
 - Work closely with Procurement Capital and Facility Category team to ensure sourcing execution alignment with the overall procurement strategy
 
 - Provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
 
 - Guide and facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders to implement sourcing solutions effectively
 
 - Ensure all Capital Construction and Equipment procurement activities comply with regulatory, contractual, and operational risk requirements; partner with Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity to manage risk
 
 - Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing peers to oversee complex negotiations for contracts, including RFPs, supplier evaluations, and contract development
 
 - Activate procurement resources toward category priorities while managing stakeholder expectations
 
 - Deliver results aligned to financial targets and inform cost savings forecasting through strategic sourcing
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Required: Doctorate degree
 
 - Or: Master’s degree and 2 years of Sourcing experience
 
 - Or: Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Sourcing experience
 
 - Or: Associate’s degree and 8 years of Sourcing experience
 
 - Or: High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Sourcing experience
 
 
 
 - Preferred: End-to-end Strategic Sourcing Experience in capital construction, equipment or Facility Services
 
 - Demonstrated leadership in Capital Construction and Equipment category, including vendor management, cost optimization, and performance measurement
 
 - Experience negotiating with suppliers endemic to Life Sciences
 
 - Strong Supplier Negotiation and Contracting skills guided by industry standard processes
 
 - Experience with Global Procurement e-Sourcing, value tracking, and CLM Tools (e.g., Workday Strategic Sourcing, Sirion Labs)
 
 - Strong analytical skills to create reports, monitor value metrics, optimize sourcing deliverables, and ensure compliance
 
 - Deep understanding of sourcing management principles, supplier relationship management, and contract lifecycle management
 
 - Experience leading large, cross-functional teams and managing complex global capital projects in a matrixed environment
 
 - Strong financial, legal, and contractual fluency to navigate Capital Construction and Equipment agreements
 
 - Exceptional ability to communicate sourcing strategies and influence senior partners
 
 - Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Ariba, ERP systems, and analytics tools
 
 - Understanding of regulatory landscapes and compliance requirements
