Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and analyze complex in vitro and ex vivo experiments using primary islets and stem cell-derived islet models.
- Develop and optimize in vitro assays to characterize islet biology (phenotypic/physiological).
- Perform extended stem cell differentiation campaigns (maintenance, expansion, differentiation of pluripotent stem cells).
- Use molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques to characterize stem cell-derived models and assess outcomes.
- Collaborate on translational and preclinical research objectives; maintain detailed records and contribute to scientific documentation.
- Interpret complex biological datasets; recommend next steps.
- Stay current with advances in stem cell biology and diabetes therapeutics; troubleshoot and refine protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills (required/preferred):
- Design/execute complex experiments and develop in vitro assays for T1D cell therapy assets.
- Hands-on pluripotent stem cell culture and directed differentiation protocols.
- Experience with in vivo and/or ex vivo disease models.
- Experience with cell-based functional assays and molecular assays (e.g., scRNA-seq, flow cytometry, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry).
- Familiarity with transcriptomics/single-cell analysis; deep developmental biology knowledge.
- Strong communication; publications; drug discovery/translational experience preferred; mentoring preferred.

Education/Experience:
- PhD (0–3 yrs), or Master’s (3+ yrs), or Bachelor’s (6+ yrs) in relevant fields.

Pay/Comp:
- $104,200–$156,200; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.
