Clinical Research and Development
Responsibilities:
- Lead one moderate project/indication or a highly complex large late-phase rare disease study; or lead multiple projects including at least one complex project.
- With minimal direction, direct statistical support and provide scientific leadership; accountable for statistical aspects of clinical development/medical affairs plans, studies, and submissions activities (when applicable), ensuring quality, external stakeholder relevance (e.g., regulators/medical journals), and scientific validity.
- Mentor project team; promote teamwork, quality, operational efficiency, innovation; ensure SOP and departmental compliance.
- Plan and track project activities, timelines, and resource use; justify resources; optimize utilization; effectively use external groups (e.g., CROs, DMCs); handle unscheduled workload increases.
- Provide technical guidance/mentoring to junior staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and with other statistics leaders; communicate with senior leadership.
- Represent statistics in regulatory meetings.
- Participate/lead scientific or technology working groups; contribute to process optimization and statistical standards.
Qualifications:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Statistics/Biostatistics/Applied Mathematics/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Data Science or related quantitative discipline.
- Experience: PhD 5+ years or Master’s 7+ years in pharma/biotech/biologics/medical device/diagnostics or related.
Preferred:
- Strong project/study management; advanced statistical concepts; pharmaceutical clinical development knowledge.
- Experience with clinical development or post-marketing (submissions/regulatory interactions); relevant therapeutic area.
- Strong interpersonal/communication; ability to represent company in consortiums/professional associations.
