Job Description: As a Statistical Advisor, act as a trusted advisor to pivotal study leads and stakeholders; lead biostatistics initiatives; provide cross-therapeutic area support on complex issues/innovative designs; and design statistics training for others. Recognized expert in statistics communities with a proven track record of scientific publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute as a key resource on cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Advise study leads and stakeholders
- Advise others to make better decisions and resolve problems
- Provide statistical training to non-statisticians
- Partner with Study Biostatisticians and Clinical Research Scientists for innovative trial design, simulation, execution, and adaptive trials software tools
- Present and/or publish new statistical methodology
- Provide leadership for a departmental strategic initiative
Basic Qualifications:
- 9+ years industry (pharma/device/diagnostics) or academia clinical trial research experience
- PhD in Biostatistics or related field
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Recognized expert beyond the company; strong understanding of state-of-the-art drug development statistics
- Ability to collaborate with external academic/government organizations
- Can present complex statistical concepts; identify critical problem aspects
- Proficiency in R or SAS programming and software development
- Use competitive intelligence to influence clinical development strategies
Compensation/Benefits (explicit): Salary rangeβBay Area: $226,185-$292,710; Other US: $205,615-$266,090. May include discretionary bonus and incentives; benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
