Staff Compute HW Engineer

Role: Senior Compute Hardware Engineer responsible for designing and validating subsystem-level hardware for next-generation DNA sequencers, focusing on compute, memory, I/O, and networking components. Responsibilities: define hardware requirements, evaluate and validate components (CPUs, memory, switches), implement networking solutions including Ethernet, debug hardware/software issues across Linux and firmware, lead board bring-up, and contribute to design for remote deployment (secure boot, OTA updates). Collaborate with electrical, firmware, Linux teams and maintain detailed documentation. Requirements: 5+ years in embedded/edge compute hardware design; Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science preferred; experience with x86 platforms, DDR/LPDDR, PCIe; Linux device driver expertise; familiarity with firmware (BIOS, U-Boot, UEFI), high-speed PCB design, and signal integrity. Preferred: experience with edge networking hardware, thermal and EMI/EMC testing, and remote diagnostics.
