Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology for the Scranton-Allentown territory. Represent Gilead's oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generate and grow sales, and aim to meet or exceed targets within the assigned geographic area. Territory includes Allentown, Scranton, York, Harrisburg, Danville, Chambersburg, State College, and Williamsport; relocation is not available. Build strong relationships with healthcare practices, provide disease awareness information and clinical updates, and tailor communications to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Represent Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generate and grow sales, and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets within the geographic area.
- Prepare a business plan for the territory and monitor sales progress and action plans.
- Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in the assigned territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
- Promote the products to targeted oncologists and office staff; train staff to ensure safe and appropriate drug administration; inform staff about Gilead patient services.
- Establish and develop relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders.
- Leverage experience in hospital and large account sales to navigate complex reimbursement issues.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, solid presentation skills, and the ability to influence others at professional events to promote company products.
- Partner with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access on cross-functional projects to drive sales and patient adoption.
- Show leadership among peers by applying appropriate compliance, behavior, and conduct; identify and resolve issues; communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.
- Complete administrative tasks promptly (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
- Ensure department personnel are informed of and in compliance with Gilead commercial compliance policy and applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to product promotion and information dissemination.
Qualifications
- Required: 6+ years with BS/BA OR 4+ years with MS/MA
- Preferred: Ability to travel within the assigned area; onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners within the area (vaccinations, screenings, etc.)
- Preferred: Valid driver's license
- Preferred: 7+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience and a BS/BA or equivalent
- Preferred: Previous product launch experience
- Preferred: Superior selling skills in highly competitive markets
- Preferred: Prior experience in oncology therapy
- Preferred: Prior experience in the therapeutic field of breast cancer is strongly preferred
- Preferred: Aptitude for understanding scientific product-related information
- Preferred: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and build working relationships with Oncology key opinion leaders
- Preferred: Proven expertise in influencing as well as strong negotiation skills; proven experience in account planning and cross-functional account management
- Preferred: Self-motivated and able to work with a general level of autonomy and independence
- Preferred: Familiar with industry trends and remain current with competitors' resources and practices
- Preferred: Demonstrated analytical skills; able to identify and understand moderate to complex issues and interpret information to provide recommendations

Education
