Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology, focused on representing Gilead oncology products to a defined customer base in Brooklyn, NY. Responsible for generating and growing sales, achieving or exceeding targets, and building strong relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information and clinical updates. Synthesizes complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive patient adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generate and grow sales, and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets within a specific geographic area
  • Prepare a business plan for the territory to achieve goals and monitor sales progress and action plans
  • Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in the assigned territory and facilitate patient access to treatment
  • Promote products to targeted oncologists and office staff, in-service staff to ensure safe and appropriate drug administration, and inform staff of Gilead patient services
  • Establish and develop relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders
  • Experience in hospital and large account sales, managing complex reimbursement issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication, solid presentation skills, and ability to influence others at professional events to promote company products
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access on cross-functional projects to drive sales and patient adoption
  • Demonstrate leadership by applying appropriate compliance, behavior, and conduct
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues, and communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly, such as updating customer database and expenses

Qualifications

  • Required: Travel within the assigned area as needed; valid driver's license
  • Required: Educational/experience combinations: High School Diploma with 11 years, Associates with 9 years, Bachelor's with 7 years, or Master's with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred: A minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; BS/BA or equivalent; previous product launch experience
  • Preferred: Prior experience in oncology therapy, with emphasis on breast cancer; aptitude for understanding scientific product information
  • Preferred: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with Oncology key opinion leaders, and demonstrated negotiation and account planning capabilities
  • Preferred: Self-motivated with autonomy; familiarity with industry trends and competitive landscape; strong analytical skills for issue identification and recommendations
  • Preferred: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
