Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology representing Gilead's products to a defined customer base, driving sales within a specific geographic area. Build relationships with healthcare practices, deliver disease awareness information and clinical education, and synthesize complex concepts for diverse audiences. This role supports the Boston West territory, covering major centers west of Boston, Worcester, Springfield, and Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in therapeutic areas with in-depth knowledge of the disease state.
  • Actively promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
  • Demonstrates peer leadership by consistent application and modeling of appropriate compliance, behavior, and conduct.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal teams; collaborate with outside partners as needed.
  • Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Contribute to inclusion and diversity efforts.
  • Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments per guidelines.
  • Perform administrative functions including call reporting and expense submission; maintain accurate customer information.
  • Adhere to regulatory and company policies, and uphold company values of Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, and Integrity.
  • Demonstrate advanced influencing and relationship-building with a focus on sales outcomes.
  • Maintain passion for learning and retention of technical and scientific product information.
  • Operate as a self-motivated achiever capable of working autonomously and surpassing goals.
  • Ensure department personnel are informed of and comply with commercial compliance policies and applicable laws and guidance related to product promotion.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma and 11+ years of experience; or Associates Degree and 9+ years; or Bachelors Degree and 7+ years; or Masters Degree and 5+ years.
  • Required: Ability to travel as needed within the assigned area and comply with onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners, including any required vaccinations or screenings.
  • Required: Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
  • Required: Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred: BA or BS degree; minimum of 4 years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; superior selling skills in competitive markets; proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives; prior product launch experience in a competitive environment.

  • Corresponding to the qualifications above: highest relevant degree levels (High School Diploma, Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's) as specified in the required experience.
