Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Specialist – HCV/PBC represents Gilead's products to a defined customer base, drives sales within a geographic area, and builds strong relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and education. The role requires synthesizing complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences, strong presentation and communication skills, and an understanding of geography-specific issues and opportunities. This opportunity supports the Sacramento/Reno territory.

Responsibilities

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in the therapeutic areas, with in-depth knowledge of the disease state complexities.
  • Actively promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals in compliance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
  • Demonstrate peer leadership by modeling compliant behavior and conduct.
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
  • Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and other internal teams; may collaborate with external partners to co-promote products or services.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
  • Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments and other internal teams as required.
  • Perform administrative duties, including logging call activity, submitting expenses, and maintaining customer information in systems.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: High School Degree with 11 years' experience; OR Associate's Degree with 9 years' experience; OR Bachelor's Degree with 7 years' experience; OR Master's Degree with 5 years' experience.
  • Ability to travel as reasonably required, including regular travel within the assigned area.
  • Ability to meet onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners within the assigned area, if applicable (e.g., vaccinations, screenings, or other requirements).
  • Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: BA or BS degree; minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; superior selling skills in highly competitive markets; proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets; prior product launch experience in a competitive environment.
