Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist – HCV/PBC for the Iowa territory. Responsible for representing Gilead's products to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and achieving targets within a specific geographic area through in-person interactions with healthcare professionals. Develops strong working relationships with practices to provide disease awareness information, clinical updates, and healthcare changes, translating complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences. Demonstrates knowledge of the disease state and geography-specific opportunities, with a focus on compliant, effective product promotion and education.
Responsibilities
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of Gilead and competitor products in therapeutic areas and the complexities of the disease state.
- Actively promote Gilead products to healthcare professionals in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Demonstrates peer leadership by modeling compliant behavior and conduct.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan to meet customer needs and sales goals; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans for customer contacts, educational grants, speaker events, and external expenditures.
- Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and internal teams; collaborate with outside partners as needed.
- Identify and resolve issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to marketing and sales management.
- Demonstrate commitment to Inclusion & Diversity efforts.
- Report adverse events to Drug Safety and Public Health departments as required.
- Perform administrative duties including reporting call activity, submitting expenses, and maintaining records in required systems.

Qualifications
- Required: Basic Qualifications – High School Degree and 11 years of experience; or Associate’s Degree and 9 years of experience; or Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience; or Master’s Degree and 5 years of experience.
- Ability to travel as required, including within the assigned area.
- Onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners within the assigned area, if applicable (may include vaccinations, screenings, and other requirements).
- Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Preferred: BA or BS degree; minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; strong selling skills in competitive markets; proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets; previous product launch experience in a competitive environment.
