Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Sr. Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for Dallas, TX and Baton Rouge, LA; partner with site leadership, line managers, and cross-functional teams
- Liaison with local and state agencies (Texas and Louisiana) to ensure strong regulatory relationships and timely responses
- Plan, develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure continuous compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, company standards, and industry best practices
- Own environmental compliance: maintain permits/registrations/plans; manage renewals/updates; meet reporting deadlines
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions and verify effectiveness
- Track metrics and trends; communicate learnings; drive behavior-based safety improvements across sites
- Develop and deliver targeted EHS training; maintain training matrices and records
- Communicate complex technical and regulatory information clearly to senior leaders and shop-floor employees
- Champion continuous improvement through best-practice deployment across both sites
Education:
- Bachelorβs degree in biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, Physical Science, or related technical discipline (required)
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, R&D, laboratory, or technical operations environments
- Demonstrated experience working with U.S. EHS regulatory agencies and corporate support functions
- Competency in one or more: RCRA hazardous waste, Clean Air Act (Title V/NSR), OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), and high-risk work controls (elevated work, confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout, etc.)
- Experience developing/delivering EHS training and conducting incident investigations with root cause analysis
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Working knowledge of Texas (TCEQ) and Louisiana (LDEQ) environmental regulatory frameworks, permitting, and reporting
- Proficiency with EHS management systems and corrective action tracking
- Proficiency in safety programs including contractor management, permits-to-work, safe work planning; emergency preparedness/response (drills and coordination with local responders) and severe weather readiness; MOC, PSSER, and mechanical integrity; ergonomics and industrial hygiene familiarity
- Collaborative leadership style; ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability
- CSP and/or PE and/or CIH certifications (preferred)
