Role Summary
The Sr Specialist- Warehouse - Engineering position is based in Indianapolis, IN and is responsible for on-shift monitoring and response for the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), conveyors, and Automated Guided Vehicles supporting Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing. The role provides first-line support to production processes and supports area engineering initiatives, process improvements, and project implementation. It requires developing expertise in warehouse automation systems, maintenance execution, commissioning, qualification, and validation requirements, and ensuring equipment is maintained in a qualified state and operated safely with proper maintenance performed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Warehouse Automation Systems for faults, errors and issues preventing the delivery of production materials to the manufacturing processes
- Perform periodic and break/fix maintenance on the ASRS, conveyors, AGVs, and ancillary systems
- Assure that operational and maintenance procedures and practices reflect safety concerns
- Find and eliminate safety issues with the equipment and processes
- Participate in safety reviews and audits, as required
- Perform activities in accordance with cGMPs and applicable procedures
- Understand the production process and critical process parameters
- Identify opportunities to improve quality using equipment performance data and by assuring maintenance is performed appropriately
- Work with the process team, including engineers and operations personnel, to participate in and sometimes lead development of equipment design, procedures, studies, and maintenance practices that enable the process to operate as required
- Seek opportunities to improve equipment operational effectiveness and reliability
- Provide technical support for process and engineering teams
- Monitor specific plant data for out-of-control signals and begin investigations into causes; attend and participate in team meetings
- Provide technical support to engineering in:
- Investigating and resolving issues that create production delays
- Transferring knowledge of equipment capabilities and operational techniques to operators, engineering, and maintenance
- Implementing tools for operations and engineering to learn and work more proficiently
- Contractor and vendor coordination
- Create maintenance action plans as needed to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities
- Participate in periodic reviews of equipment state
- Plan and execute small projects for process or equipment improvements or changes
Qualifications
- Required: Associate's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
- Required: 5 years of manufacturing or skilled trade experience
- Preferred: Knowledge of Warehousing operations, equipment and automation, ASRS, AGVs, Conveyors
- Preferred: Knowledge of Parenteral manufacturing operations
- Preferred: Experience with Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management system
- Preferred: Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
- Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

- 12-hour shift days 3-2-2-3
- Minimal travel required
