Role Summary
Sr. Scientist to join the Protein Biochemistry group. Responsible for performing biochemical and biophysical assays to characterize protein biologics and gene therapy candidates to support late-stage development and commercialization efforts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments on therapeutic protein and gene therapy candidates (AAV/pseudovirus) for late-stage development and regulatory submissions.
- Provide input on experimental design and suggest modifications in protocols or experimental methods to meet program needs.
- Advance method development to enrich and characterize size/charge variants of therapeutic protein and gene therapy drug candidates.
- Document experiments, results and findings in electronic laboratory notebook; present work at group and department meetings; contribute to drafting protocols, method development reports, regulatory submission sections, and peer-reviewed articles.
- Maintain instruments, troubleshoot problems, and order/maintain supplies.
Qualifications
- PhD with 0-3 years, MS with 8-10 years, or BS with 13+ years of proven experience.
- In-depth knowledge of protein structure and function.
- Experience developing new analytical methods and optimizing existing methods (preferred).
- Experience with H/UPLC, A4F/SEC-multi-angle-light scattering, capillary electrophoresis, and protein purification (preferred).
- Prior experience with AAV, pseudovirus and LNP (plus).
