Role: Senior/Principal Scientist in Discovery Oncology (in vivo Biology) focused on designing and executing mouse and rat studies to identify and validate novel cancer drug targets. Responsibilities include conducting tumor xenograft, syngeneic, and PDX models; performing genetic and pharmacological perturbation studies; de-risking on-target toxicity; analyzing tumor and tissue samples; and supporting in vitro and biochemical assays. The role involves managing vivarium operations, collaborating cross-functionally (e.g., in vitro biology, translational medicine, toxicology), and mentoring junior scientists. Requirements: MS in biology or related field with 3-8 years' relevant lab experience; extensive hands-on experience with in vivo mouse models, especially in oncology; strong molecular and cellular biology skills; excellent organization and communication. Preferred: rat model experience, gene editing skills (CRISPR), in vivo imaging, histology, and pathology knowledge. High-value specifics: focus on oncology, tumor models (xenograft, PDX), early discovery stage. Work environment: onsite in South San Francisco, California, with physical demands typical of vivarium/laboratory work.
