Sr Scientist I, Automation Development

Role: Senior Scientist I in chemical automation and workflow development within AbbVie's Small Molecule CMC, focusing on early drug discovery and preclinical development. Responsibilities: develop automated, data-enabled workflows to enhance throughput, support physiochemical profiling, preclinical formulation, and platform optimization for emerging modalities including small molecules, PROTACs, and peptides; collaborate with discovery and development teams to advance developability assessments and streamline decision-making processes. Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields; 8+ years (M.S.) or 0-3 years (Ph.D.) experience in pharma or similar industry; hands-on expertise in assay development, automation, physicochemical property analysis, and workflow integration; familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, MS, pXRD, spectroscopy, and biophysical methods; experience with data analysis, AI/ML integration, and working with informatics teams.
