Responsibilities:
- Design, engineer, and express recombinant proteins and antibodies (including bispecifics and novel fusions) using transient and stable expression platforms.
- Develop stable CHO cell lines for antibody expression; develop mammalian cell lines and reporters for antibody discovery, screening, and lead optimization.
- Support protein purification and characterization; assess antibody binding and cell-surface target engagement using flow cytometry.
- Manage protein production activities at CROs.
- Contribute to project strategy and experimental design; present findings at team meetings.
- Document experiments in electronic lab notebooks and technical reports.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biochemistry (or related) with 2+ years industry experience, or Masterβs with 6+ years relevant industry experience.
- Expertise in molecular biology and protein engineering; experience designing antibodies and novel antibody-based formats (biospecifics, fusion proteins).
- Hands-on mammalian cell culture, transfection, and recombinant antibody expression workflows.
- Protein purification and in vitro analytical characterization (e.g., SEC, Octet).
- Flow cytometry (FACS) assays for antibody binding/specificity and cell-surface target engagement.
- Experience managing CRO relationships/external production.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and data presentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates and complex modalities.
- Lentiviral transduction and gene editing technologies.
- Mass spectrometry-based characterization.
Base compensation range: $124,000β$166,000.
