Recognized as a strategic internal and external scientific expert and leader. Develops innovative methods for the production, purification, fermentation and testing of new processes, technologies and products. Involved in implementing a new product scale-up, purification, process optimization, technology transfer and process validation activities. Drives the development of production procedures and product specifications. Maintains substantial knowledge of start-of-the-art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. Advises Sr. Technical Leadership and executive management on Biologics development and manufacturing, and assists with the coaching and mentoring efforts of the process development group.
Recognized Internal thought leader and deep expertise in biochemical/biologics process development. Requires broad, deep and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories and techniques for functional area. Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations. Influences internal/external business and/or industry issues that have an impact on Neurocrine. Strong mentoring skills and leadership abilities supervise lower levels and/or leads indirect teams. Current with biochemical/bioprocess development literature, processes and techniques. Excellent laboratory and productivity skills. Biochemical/biologics manufacturing experience including person in plant activities. Advanced understanding of biologics process validation. Advanced understanding of cGMP, safety and regulatory requirements for biochemical API. Demonstration of cross-functional understanding related to drug development. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and direct chemical research programs.

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $219,700.00-$318,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program.
