Role Summary

Sr. Project Manager for the OTTAVA surgical robotics team within Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) Program Management. Responsible for the design and development of capital system hardware from concept generation to launch. Develops end-to-end schedules and translates them into actionable quarterly objectives and key results, champions a hybrid Agile methodology, and leads risk management including contingency planning, conflict resolution, and tradeoff assessments. Builds strong cross-functional partnerships, communicates difficult decisions, and fosters a culture of collaboration and end-to-end accountability. This role is based in Santa Clara, CA, with up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop capital system hardware from concept generation through launch.
  • Develop end-to-end schedules and break them down into actionable quarterly objectives and key results.
  • Champion a hybrid Agile methodology to drive teams toward important short-term milestones that are critical to the overall development plan and strategy.
  • In collaboration with the team, lead risk management and mitigation including contingency planning, conflict resolution, and tradeoff assessments.
  • Build strong relationships with peers and multi-disciplinary functional partners; challenge and communicate difficult decisions, strategies, and priorities while fostering a culture of collaboration and end-to-end accountability.
  • Foster a positive team environment and a sense of urgency to drive improved team effectiveness and achievement.

Qualifications

  • Required: BS in Engineering or related technical subject area.
  • Required: 5+ years of program management experience; 8+ years preferred.
  • Required: Experience managing an R&D project.
  • Required: Experience leading a multi-disciplinary technical project team.
  • Required: Prior experience managing a complex electromechanical or mechatronics R&D project.
  • Preferred: Experience working on software integrated hardware products.
  • Preferred: Experience with capital systems R&D.
  • Required: Experience with MS Project.
  • Preferred: Agile methodology and Jira capabilities.
  • Required: Prior experience in a regulated environment.
  • Preferred: Medical device experience.
  • Required: High performer and leader with demonstrated ability to manage a complex program in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to influence and resolve conflicts and lead teams without direct reporting authority.
