Role Summary

Sr. Project Manager, Mission Control role located in Santa Clara, CA, with remote consideration for exceptional talent. The Project Manager, Mission Control will be a core member of the Indications Expansion team, responsible for overseeing the execution of clinical trials for new indications on the robotic system. This role is within the Program Strategy & Execution (PS&E) organization, with project teams primarily based in Santa Clara, CA. The role will develop end-to-end schedules and break them down into actionable quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs). It may operate within a hybrid Agile project management framework to drive short-term milestones and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development plan and strategy. Depending on the phase of the project, travel to clinical sites may be required to coordinate or support system installations and/or study start-up activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of clinical trials for new indications on the robotic system.
  • Develop end-to-end schedules and break them down into actionable quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Work within a hybrid Agile project management framework to drive short-term milestones critical to the overall development plan and strategy.
  • Drive risk management and mitigation plans, including contingency planning, conflict resolution, and tradeoff assessments.
  • Travel to clinical sites to coordinate or support system installations and/or study start-up activities as needed by project phase.
  • Build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate decisions, strategies, and priorities while maintaining a culture of collaboration and end-to-end accountability for the successful execution of clinical trials.
  • Foster a positive team environment and a sense of urgency to improve team effectiveness and achievement.

Qualifications

  • Required: BS degree.
  • Required: 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Preferred: 7+ years of project management experience.
  • Required: Experience in a regulated environment.
  • Preferred: Medical device experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with clinical trials.
  • Required: Experience managing schedules with MS Project or Smartsheet.
  • Preferred: Experience with Agile methodology and Jira.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in an engineering capacity or with an engineering project team.
  • Preferred: Experience working with complex electromechanical systems.
  • Required: Proven track record of taking initiative and managing a complex project in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required: Problem-solving skills, including scenarios where field support might be needed.
  • Required: Ability to work collaboratively to align diverse stakeholders, lead teams, and influence decision making without direct reporting authority.
