Main Purpose and Objectives of Position:
The Industrial Hygienist is part of the Lilly Richmond API Manufacturing HSE team and provides technical expertise and support for HSE industrial hygiene (IH) programs and other HSE programs as needed. Serves as the primary IH contact for areas such as monoclonal antibodies and antibody drug conjugates manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in project design meetings; support risk assessment and IH/exposure control decisions.
- Develop and implement written IH programs and applicable trainings.
- Develop and support the IH implementation strategy; troubleshoot and audit compliance.
- Contribute to the HSE operational readiness plan for the facility.
- Serve as a technical resource for hazard communication, exposure assessment, biological safety, and PPE.
- Conduct workplace assessments for chemical, physical, and biological hazards; develop prioritized monitoring plans; analyze exposure results and report findings.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to manage change and support safe, compliant startup.
- Help operational areas understand regulatory requirements and implement compliant solutions.
- Complete internal HSE audits/assessments; lead/support incident investigations; assist with HSE metrics trending; support long-term program improvement plans.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- 3+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience in cGMP manufacturing (pharmaceutical or chemical preferred).
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas (e.g., F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, L-1).

Additional Preferences:
- Experience in antibody drug conjugate manufacturing (drug substance and drug product).
- Technical expertise, self-motivation, attention to detail, and flexibility.
- Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, negotiation) and willingness to share information.
- High integrity; strong analysis/problem assessment and teamwork skills.
