Main Purpose and Objectives of Position
The Industrial Hygienist is part of the Lilly Richmond Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing HSE team and provides technical expertise and support in developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE industrial hygiene (IH) programs and other HSE programs as needed. This role serves as the primary IH contact for areas such as monoclonal antibodies and antibody drug conjugates manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in project design meetings; support risk assessment and IH/exposure control decisions.
- Develop and implement written programs and applicable trainings.
- Develop and support the industrial hygiene implementation strategy (implementation support, troubleshooting, and auditing compliance).
- Participate in the development of the HSE operational readiness plan for the Lilly Richmond API facility.
- Serve as a technical resource for programs such as hazard communication, exposure assessment, biological safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct workplace assessments for chemical, physical, and biological hazards; develop IH prioritized monitoring plans and analyze exposure results; prepare reports.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to manage change, assure safety/compliance of new systems, and support safe/ compliant startup.
- Support operational areas in understanding regulatory requirements and implementing compliant solutions.
- Complete internal HSE audits/assessments; lead/support incident investigations; assist with trending HSE data/metrics and long-term program improvement plans.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field.
- 3+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience within cGMP manufacturing (pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing preferred).
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor visas.

- Experience in antibody drug conjugate manufacturing (drug substance and drug product).

- Enter manufacturing and laboratory areas; wear appropriate PPE.
- Must carry a cell phone to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.

Compensation (as stated)
- Anticipated wage: $65,250 - $169,400.
