Role: Senior technical authority and program owner for waste management within Lilly's Indianapolis Environmental Services team, overseeing complex hazardous and non-hazardous waste compliance and strategy. Responsibilities: develop multi-year waste management strategies, establish standards and governance, ensure regulatory compliance (RCRA, DOT, land disposal restrictions), manage third-party vendors, lead waste minimization and circularity initiatives, oversee waste characterization and disposal pathways, and represent Lilly in regulatory and industry forums. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or related field; 10+ years in hazardous waste management; deep knowledge of RCRA, DOT/HMR, and state regulations; hands-on experience with waste profiling, manifesting, and disposal; proven program ownership and stakeholder influence skills; professional certification (e.g., CHMM, PE) preferred. High-Value: experience with waste treatment technologies, audits, regulated manufacturing environments, and environmental compliance platforms; familiarity with Lilly Indianapolis sites and regional operations. Work setup: onsite at Lilly Technology Center in Indianapolis, with less than 15% travel, involving manufacturing, laboratory, and outdoor waste areas.
