Role: Director of Molecular Pathology overseeing clinical NGS testing at Foundation Medicine, focusing on quality, regulatory compliance, and case interpretation. Responsibilities include supervising wet lab sequencing, bioinformatics curation, SOP updates, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to CAP/CLIA/NYS/FDA standards; reviewing validation studies; managing staff competency; and final case review. Collaborates with internal teams (QA, Regulatory, Clinical, Bioinformatics) and external stakeholders on audits, process improvements, and technical issues. Maintains high-quality genomic testing and results interpretation. Qualifications: MD with Board certification in Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology; 5-6+ years diagnostic experience; fellowship training and β₯1 year in high-complexity NGS; NYS CQ eligible/certified. Preferred: subspecialty in cancer genomics, leadership record, cross-functional team experience, and process-oriented approach. High-value: expertise in oncology (cancer biology, genomics), NGS validation, regulatory compliance, CLIA/CAP standards, and bioinformatics oversight.
