Role Summary
Senior Oncology Specialist in Sacramento, CA will serve as the primary clinical liaison to medical professionals, providing current clinical knowledge of Amgen's oncology products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits. The role focuses on achieving territory sales targets by leveraging oncology disease-state knowledge, building relationships with customers, and delivering education and access programs to support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
- Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and conduct territory analysis, developing territory plans with the District Manager.
- Maintain passion for the products to sustain engagement throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and stay curious and learning to grow as a Sr. Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage passion for Oncology and awareness of disease state, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
- Preferred: Oncology experience.
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation, or related fields (neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, etc.).
- Preferred: Local market knowledge.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
