Role Summary
Senior Oncology Specialist based in Roanoke, VA. Territory covers Morgantown, WV; Charleston, WV; Charlottesville, VA. Relocation is not offered for this role. This field-based role serves as the primary clinical resource to medical professionals, delivering current clinical knowledge of Amgen oncology products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits to support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute on a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales.
- Analyze the business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
- Maintain passion for the products to sustain engagement through the entire sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients.
- Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and maintain a state of continuous curiosity and learning to grow as a Sr. Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage your passion for Oncology and awareness of disease states, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Preferred: Oncology experience.
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation; Neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
- Preferred: Local Market knowledge.
- Preferred: A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
