Role Summary
Sr. Network Architect responsible for SD-WAN, next-generation networking, and cloud networking (Azure) within Perrigo's Enterprise Architecture team. Focus on shaping the enterprise network strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, security, and digital transformation. Bridge business objectives and technology to design scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define and evolve the enterprise network architecture strategy.
- Develop and maintain current and target state network architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and reference models.
- Ensure networking solutions (SD-WAN, cloud, on-premises) adhere to architecture principles, standards, and governance.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging networking technologies for enterprise adoption (e.g., SASE, Zero Trust, Network-as-a-Service, cloud-native networking).
- Lead the design and implementation of SD-WAN solutions, integrating with WAN/LAN, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Architect secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions leveraging Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Develop migration strategies from legacy networks to software-defined and cloud-based architectures.
- Design and implement cloud networking architectures (Azure VNETs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, NSGs, Azure Firewall, etc.).
- Integrate on-premises and cloud networks ensuring connectivity, security, and performance.
- Support hybrid and multi-cloud networking initiatives, including automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Establish and enforce network architecture standards, policies, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational requirements; collaborate with cybersecurity teams to embed security in designs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to IT leadership, business stakeholders, and project teams.
- Mentor and guide network engineers and operations teams on new technologies, best practices, and EA frameworks.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Cisco, VMware, Fortinet, Silver Peak, Palo Alto).
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, NSGs, etc.).
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and their application to networking.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts (hybrid/multi-cloud, cloud security, automation).
- Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for network provisioning (Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 7+ years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation in large enterprises.
