Role Summary

Sr. Network Architect responsible for SD-WAN, next-generation networking, and cloud networking (Azure) within Perrigo's Enterprise Architecture team. Focused on shaping the future of the enterprise network to align with business strategy, security, and digital transformation; bridging business objectives with technical solutions that are scalable, secure, and future-ready.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define and evolve the enterprise network architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business and digital transformation objectives.
  • Develop and maintain current and target state network architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and reference models.
  • Ensure all networking solutions (SD-WAN, cloud, on-premises) adhere to enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging networking technologies (e.g., SASE, Zero Trust, Network-as-a-Service, cloud-native networking) for enterprise adoption.
  • Lead the design and implementation of SD-WAN solutions, integrating with existing WAN/LAN, data center, and cloud environments.
  • Architect secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions leveraging Azure and other cloud platforms.
  • Develop migration strategies from legacy networks to software-defined and cloud-based architectures.
  • Design and implement cloud networking architectures (Azure VNETs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, NSGs, Azure Firewall, etc.).
  • Integrate on-premises and cloud networks, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and performance.
  • Support hybrid and multi-cloud networking initiatives, including automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Establish and enforce network architecture standards, policies, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure network security is embedded in all designs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to IT leadership, business stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Mentor and guide network engineers and operations teams on new technologies, best practices, and EA frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Cisco, VMware, Fortinet, Silver Peak, Palo Alto).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, NSGs, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and their application to networking.
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts (hybrid/multi-cloud, cloud security, automation).
  • Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for network provisioning (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or closely related field; minimum 7+ years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation within large enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, TOGAF, AWS/GCP networking, or equivalent.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and multi-cloud networking.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for network automation.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, manufacturing) is a plus.
