Role Summary
Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) DMD to develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers and decision makers related to neuromuscular programs/products. Deliver presentations and engage in strategic discussions on medical/clinical, health economics, and outcomes data. Remote position covering the Northwest geography; candidates should reside near major airports in San Francisco, Seattle, Boise, Reno, Las Vegas, Portland, or Cheyenne.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with current and future KOLs in the DMD space; educate professionals with medical, scientific, and pharmacoeconomic information about Catalyst therapies; increase awareness to support informed therapeutic decisions.
- Assist in preparation and execution of regional/national advisory board meetings; deliver presentations, assist with slide prep/review, and facilitate discussions; provide resources for presenting medical information and gather feedback on utility and marketplace position.
- Deliver targeted internal training on topics such as study updates and congress news; implement and disseminate high-quality medical/scientific education; give clinical presentations at sites/hospitals.
- Support Catalyst-sponsored clinical trials on site with presentations that contextualize the program, identify enrollment barriers, and participate in investigator meetings; aid in data collection for pipeline assets and marketed products.
- Support projects from inception to conclusion as assigned by the medical affairs director.
- Provide clinical and value-based input into Catalyst communications/materials; assist in training new associates including other MSLs and regional account managers.
Qualifications
- Must have an advanced degree in medical/biosciences (e.g., MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, DNP).
- At least 5 years of clinical research, pharmacy, life sciences, pharma industry/academic experience (relevant fellowship acceptable).
- Current neurology relationships in the DMD space; 5+ years of MSL experience, preferably in DMD or Rare Disease.
- Experience in the DMD space; understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment; ability to liaison between Commercial, Marketing, Payor, and Medical in a compliant manner.
- Strong scientific/pharmaceutical knowledge with extensive presentation and teaching skills; excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable discussing drug information and disease state management.
- Willingness to work cross-functionally within the organization; ability to lead and mentor without direct reporting relationship.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and issue assessment abilities.
Skills
- Sound computer skills including word processing, slide creation, and Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to develop qualitative and quantitative reports; collate competitor information.
Education
- Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, DNP).
Additional Requirements
- Frequent travel; comfortable working outside normal hours to meet organizational demands, including advisory boards and congress attendance.
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 75% of workdays within the assigned geography and possibly across the US.
