Sr. Medical Director/Medical Director, Global Safety Officer

Role Summary

The Sr. Medical Director/Medical Director, Global Safety Officer (GSO) will provide strategic safety oversight for the Alkermes Neuroscience portfolio, working closely with the DSPV leadership team and reporting to the Head of DSPV. The GSO will serve in a visible role providing safety advisement across company-wide forums and initiatives. The role requires demonstrated success as a product safety physician, leading clinical and post-marketing safety programs and collaborating with cross-functional teams, with the ability to inform DSPV leadership of evolving safety issues and strategies. The ideal candidate will build trust, demonstrate accountability, drive critical projects with urgency, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, either independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic safety oversight for assigned investigational and/or marketed products in the Alkermes Neuroscience portfolio.
• Serve as a safety adviser in company-wide forums and initiatives and communicate evolving safety issues and strategies to DSPV leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead clinical and post-marketing safety programs as the Safety Lead.
• Build high trust, accountability, and a sense of urgency to lead critical projects, and communicate effectively with varied stakeholders, both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated career success as a product safety physician, with experience leading clinical and post-marketing safety programs as the Safety Lead.
• Ability to partner with cross-functional teams and keep DSPV leadership informed of evolving safety issues and strategies.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Education
