Role Summary
The rare disease business unit (RDBU) Sr Manager of Commercial Analytics is responsible for performing complex data analysis and reporting to communicate commercial performance and support business operations of the hereditary angioedema (HAE) and lysosomal storage disorder (LSD) franchises. This role involves tracking and presenting product performance (e.g., demand units, new patients, discontinuations, etc.), providing analytical deep dives on critical topics, and optimizing data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets, such as patient insurance claims. This role leverages storytelling skills to “connect the dots” and produce insightful, clear, creative, actionable and continuously improving deliverables to key stakeholders across the RDBU franchise. This person is the “thought leader” in data-driven decision making for the HAE and LSD commercial teams and is a critical strategic partner to franchise leadership.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates with cross-functional partners to create various deliverables related to overall brand performance, as well as deeper dives into patient and HCP segments, access and channel dynamics, and impact of competitor activity on our products.
- Adds own perspective and synthesizes groups’ insights into actionable reports focusing on the “why” and “so what” behind the data.
- Partners closely with HAE/LSD Insights Lead to understand and integrate related primary market research (PMR) and competitive intelligence (CI) findings
- Identifies and proactively seeks out opportunities to automate processes to reduce errors and to free up time for more creative work on existing deliverables, including the use of AI wherever possible and appropriate.
- Evaluates, recommends, and communicates appropriate models/techniques and industry knowledge to other team members clearly, and contributes to the development of new concepts and standards.
- Manage consultants and vendors, including onboarding, direction, and budget.
- Builds and maintains a learning and continuous-development environment to ensure employee engagement and growth.
- Mentors and manages more junior colleagues, including ALDP associates.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- BA or BS required, relevant quantitative analytical field such as statistics, analytics, etc. preferred
- MBA with a focus on healthcare or master’s in data analytics/informatics preferred
- Consulting experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of quantitative analytical experience in the pharmaceutical industry required; experience in the Autoimmune/Rare Disease space preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of coding techniques in SQL required; proficiency in other coding languages such as Python, SAS, R preferred
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, or similar platforms required
- Experience with enterprise databases (e.g., Databricks environment) strongly preferred
Skills
- Data Knowledge – experience working with internal and secondary data (Specialty pharmacy, IQVIA/Komodo/Veeva/Symphony claims, 867 sales data, etc.) and integrating results into findings and recommendations.
- Storytelling – ability to clearly communicate a story to stakeholders using data to connect-the-dots and uncover the why behind the what.
- Experience with machine learning and/or AI applications for business tasks preferred
- Analytics – ability to analyze relevant data sources and understand how to use this information to drive projects that will impact the business.
- Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and effectively in a presentation, in a persuasive, organized and appropriate manner.
