Sr Manager, Project Controls & Assurance (Full-time on-site), Wilson, North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide front end loading/early estimating guidance; secure resources, capabilities, and processes for capital projects.
- Support implementation of IDEA Project Delivery Process; focus on cost/schedule objectives, identify/mitigate risk, adhere to financial procedures.
- Develop/align Capital Appropriation Request estimates, cost accounting, and detailed schedules for project approval integration.
- Ensure tools/processes track deliverables; monitor/report progress; ensure efficient change control.
- Ensure risk processes are implemented across IDEA stages.
- Attend engineering/construction phase meetings; evaluate AE/CM/C&Q performance for cost control and change management.
- Analyze cost/change orders/forecasts; review estimate trend reports; develop/review project estimates (scope, inclusions/exclusions, rates, subcontract costs, fees/markups, indirects).
- Evaluate procurement plans, subcontract costs/schedules pre-award, contingency budgets, and payment applications.
- Maintain/update 21-Tab / ESR (funding authorization, schedule, accomplishments/issues, cashflow, safety).
- Lead schedule development/integration (engineering/design, procurement, construction, IT-automation, commissioning/qualification, readiness/validation/tech transfer) and critical-path baselining.
- Recommend actions to optimize schedule performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorβs (or equivalent), preferred Business/Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management.
- Required: 10+ years relevant experience; project controls leading capital projects >$500MM in supply chain/R&D/medical device or regulated industry; project management; knowledge of engineering/construction/project controls; estimating + cost/schedule integration + risk control; translate business needs into Final Project Objectives; strong influencing/negotiation/conflict skills; people leadership across senior internal/external stakeholders.
- Preferred: FPX/IDEA familiarity; PMP (or equivalent); Primavera P6/MS Project; Monte Carlo risk analysis; web-based systems (Open-Text/POET/Livelink); FDA-regulated industry.
