Sr Manager, Process Engineering

Role: Senior MSAT Operations & Automation Technology Manager supporting clinical cell therapy manufacturing. Objectives: ensure reliable GMP manufacturing operations, facilitate technology transfers, support process improvements, and maintain compliance. Responsibilities: oversee GMP equipment and automation systems, troubleshoot issues, coordinate upgrades, support new product introductions, author deviations and change controls, and implement data analytics for process optimization. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years (or Master's/PhD with fewer years) in engineering, biotech, life sciences, or related fields; experience supporting biologics, cell/gene therapy, or pharma manufacturing; strong background in GMP operations, automation systems (MES, SCADA, PLC, data historians), validation, quality systems, and process engineering. Preferred: 10+ years in cell therapy manufacturing, leadership experience, knowledge of AI solutions, and cross-functional collaboration skills. High-Value: focus on biologics, cell/gene therapy modalities, GMP environment, technology transfer, automation, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives in clinical-stage manufacturing. Work setup includes hybrid onsite/remote with planned relocation from Santa Monica to El Segundo or Thousand Oaks from January 2027. The role reports to senior management and involves cross-department collaboration with Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, Validation, IT, and Process Development.
