Role Summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Neurovascular, is recruiting a Senior Manager of Global Strategic Planning to join our team. This position is located in Irvine, California and follows a hybrid schedule with on-site presence 2-3 days per week. The role focuses on developing and executing global strategic plans for the Neurovascular business, including market modeling, portfolio strategy, LTSP communications, and pricing strategy to support growth and maximize value.

Responsibilities

  • Semi-annual Market Model update: leverage third-party market research, competitive intelligence and regional insights to build market model.
  • Host meetings by region to ensure alignment with the representation of regional markets, pricing and competitive dynamics.
  • Present a regionally aligned market model to Neurovascular senior leadership annually, with a six-month update if material changes have occurred.
  • Portfolio Strategy: Create executive level market and investment slides that represent the highest and best use of J&J NV resources for portfolio expansion into strategically aligned adjacencies and tuck ins.
  • Identify critical portfolio gaps and path to execute on filling gaps through internal or external means.
  • Model adjacent market landscapes and potential acquisition targets that can be leveraged for investment decisions and support senior leadership evaluation of inorganic investments.
  • Long-Term Strategic Planning: communicate market metrics to corporate strategy partners for annual LTSP activities. LTSP communications will be vetted by Neurovascular Leadership and backed by market research that supports the representation of J&J’s LTSP.
  • Global Pricing Strategy: evaluate existing portfolio position in market and assess opportunities for price optimization; work with product marketing to ensure price floors and ceilings are positioned for best performance of J&J portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience and Skills: Five years of total strategy or related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering, analyzing and presenting data within an investment framework
  • Demonstrated proficiency in constructing global market models to estimate project value and select optimal projects amongst alternatives
  • Competent in financial metrics including NPV, Gross Profit, P&L statements and basic accounting
  • Ability to lead qualitative and quantitative market research to identify market segments, product value drivers and uncover strategic opportunities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating value propositions, using innovative marketing approaches in alignment with traditional tactics, and deploying metrics to identify business impact
  • Leverages a deep understanding of stakeholder input, market preferences by segment, and the decision-making process to identify unmet needs and market trends
  • Track record of success in utilizing stakeholder insights to influence internal and external stakeholders to overcome resistance, create opportunities and drive results
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers (physicians), senior executives and internal stakeholders with demonstrated presentation skills
  • Cycle of success in driving execution by leveraging and integrating cross-functional support for investment decisions, performance dashboards and measurement tools to deliver impact
  • Preferred: Neurovascular experience strongly preferred
  • Preferred: Experience with vascular medical devices
  • Preferred: Proficient in the application of generative AI models to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Preferred: Experience in development of full Net Present Value valuation models
  • Preferred: General working knowledge of quantitative marketing research tools including conjoint, NPS, max diff among others
  • Preferred: Global product launch experience
