Role Summary

Sr. Manager, Global Procurement-R&D- Global Development. Lead the development and implementation of the Global Clinical Category Management strategy, gathering and anticipating business supply needs and specifications to manage a supply base, enhance value, minimize risk, and ensure quality and cost effectiveness through collaboration with business units.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partners to lead discussions related to Global Clinical Category strategies and align category priorities.
  • Manage negotiations, supplier management activities, and partner engagement.
  • Drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings.
  • Represent Global Procurement in organizational decisions with short and long-term impact on success, efficiency, growth, and results.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of efficient global procurement processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support growth and drive improvements aligned with priorities.
  • Manage category activities to ensure compliance with GxPs and applicable regulations.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law, aligned with priorities and business requirements.
  • May manage a team of professionals responsible for category management tasks (if applicable).
  • Use data to drive decision-making for successful category projects.
  • Coach proficiency on procurement technical skills among the global procurement team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8+ years of relevant, progressive procurement experience, including Pharma/BioPharma.
  • Experience successfully managing clinical category processes and suppliers across multiple categories.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams through sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management.

Skills

  • Relationship building with collaborators and suppliers to drive results.
  • Experience using external data sources and market information to understand supply market dynamics.
  • Integrity, focus, and clarity in ambiguous environments to lead change and improvement.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required).
