Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain sustainable materials and substances of concern (SoC) standards, decision criteria, templates, and governance documentation.
- Support sustainability/SoC screening within Material Change Management (workflow execution, risk assessment, escalation, adoption).
- Maintain a global Materials/SoC risk and readiness portfolio.
- Partner with Procurement/Supplier Management on supplier data requirements, traceability expectations, and data quality standards.
- Support Supplier Notification of Change and sustainability/SoC-driven material change activities; develop risk-based qualification strategies.
- Coordinate assessments for sustainable material substitutions, including (as applicable) extractables/leachables impacts.
- Build and enhance digital tools (e.g., SharePoint/Power Platform), dashboards, structured registers, intake workflows, and knowledge management.
- Support a Sustainable Materials Community of Practice (training, knowledge sharing, case reviews).
- Prepare leadership reports/portfolio updates on progress, risks, decisions, and recommendations.
Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Materials Science/Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial biopharmaceutical manufacturing, Quality, MSAT, Supplier Quality, Packaging, Technical Operations, or related.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Experience with material qualification, supplier change management, quality risk management, supplier transparency, or sustainability/SoC programs.
Skills:
- Materials knowledge (polymers, elastomers, resins, coatings, adhesives, inks, single-use systems).
- Ability to translate sustainability/SoC into practical risk-based recommendations.
- Strong technical writing; advanced Microsoft (Excel, SharePoint, Power Platform).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across global functions.
Core competencies: technical expertise, leadership/influence, balanced decision-making, digital mindset, continuous improvement, collaboration.
