Corporate Functions
Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budget process, quarterly reforecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Develop and maintain operating and cash flow forecasts (headcount, clinical development, manufacturing, G&A).
- Prepare monthly forecasting updates and variance analyses.
- Build and maintain financial models for strategic initiatives, resource allocation, financing activities, and scenario planning.
- Partner with R&D, Clinical, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Corporate leaders to develop forecasts and monitor spending.
- Monitor cash runway, burn rate, and operational spending.
- Prepare materials/presentations for senior leadership, the Audit Committee, and Board of Directors.
- Support executive leadership with financial reporting, business insights, and decision-making analyses.

SEC Reporting & Financial Disclosures
- Lead preparation and filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K in accordance with SEC regulations.
- Develop/manage SEC reporting calendars.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, HR, and external advisors to ensure accurate disclosures and footnotes.
- Ensure accuracy/completeness of external financial statements.
- Stay current on SEC rules and emerging accounting guidance; implement process updates.
- Support financing transactions and investor-related financial analyses.

Technical Accounting & Compliance
- Research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations for complex transactions.
- Lead adoption of new accounting standards.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation supporting conclusions.
- Support equity accounting and stock compensation accounting.
- Assist with SOX compliance and internal control processes; support SOX testing and audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements.

Accounting Operations & Leadership
- Oversee general ledger, accruals, reconciliations, and monthly close.
- Ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Assist with ERP/reporting tools and financial process optimization.
- Manage/mentor the finance and accounting team.
- Contribute to special projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (required); CPA strongly preferred.
- MBA preferred.
- 8+ years progressive finance/accounting experience (biotech/pharma/life sciences preferred).
- Required: forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, SEC reporting, and technical accounting.
- Strong U.S. GAAP/SEC knowledge.
- Excel and financial modeling skills (advanced).
- Strong analytical/organizational/communication/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred
- Public company experience.
- Complex accounting experience (equity-based compensation, revenue recognition).
- SOX/internal controls experience.
- ERP and reporting platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Workiva).
- Strategic thinker; comfortable in a lean biotech environment; clear communication to non-financial stakeholders.
