Role Summary

Sr Manager, Environmental Health and Safety at VIATRIS (DPT Laboratories, Ltd). Lead site EHS compliance and programs to ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local regulations, and manage audits, training, and program development.

Responsibilities

  • Overall Site Compliance: Ensure site compliance with applicable safety requirements for OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, including state and local regulations.
  • OSHA Regulatory Expertise: Industrial hygiene, hazard communication, laboratory chemical hygiene plans, respiratory protection, general safety, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, forklift safety, hazardous chemical handling and storage, behavior-based safety, recordkeeping, workers compensation, and process safety management (PSM).
  • Ensure compliance of manufacturing and laboratory facilities with federal, state, and local regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, SARA, CAA TITLE V, SWDA, CWA, TSCA, DOT, RMP).
  • Develop and update programs and plans (Hazardous Waste Contingency, Emergency Response, Spill Prevention/Control/Countermeasure, Stormwater, Waste Minimization, Pollution Prevention, Hazardous Waste Management, Slug Control, Risk Management, etc.).
  • Regulatory submissions and fees: manage deadlines for Tier Two, waste reports, Regulated Medical Waste, air and material permits, and related filings.
  • Documentation: Ensure SOPs, batch records, and training documents demonstrate compliance with programs and plans.
  • Audits: Manage OSHA, EPA, FM Global, and customer audits; prepare responses, manage CAPA, and track commitments for all locations.
  • Budgets: Develop and maintain budgets for the Regulatory & Compliance team.
  • Customer Interface: Develop and maintain relationships with customers for current and future products.
  • Internal EHS Audits: Plan and conduct internal audits, GAP analyses, and CAPA to improve compliance.
  • Cross-Site/Vendor Audits: Support external EHS audits with Purchasing and cross-site leadership.
  • Material management: Participate in cross-functional teams handling raw materials, bulk and finished product waste disposal (hazardous and nonhazardous) from R&D, QC, and Operations.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality practices and procedures per guidelines and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field required; Master’s in occupational and health sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of related industry experience in Medical Devices, OTC, and Rx Pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills, including compliance management.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ regulations.
