Responsibilities:
- Partner with R&D data domains to define, deploy, and maintain Critical Data Elements (CDEs) for master data management.
- Own and manage the R&D MDM platform (design, implementation, enhancement of MDM capabilities).
- Identify downstream systems needing master data integration and plan onboarding to the enterprise MDM platform.
- Enable Data Stewards to run data quality/integrity checks in MDM match-and-merge.
- Monitor and instrument the R&D data ecosystem to ensure critical master data is trusted, interoperable, and fit for use.
- Ensure governance, data quality, integrity, and privacy standards are consistently applied.
- Drive adoption through standards, partner engagement, and enablement of data stewards and domain teams.
- Develop and implement R&D data governance policies for master data.
- Lead integration of R&D systems into the enterprise MDM platform; oversee modeling, matching, merging, and stewardship workflows.
- Support FAIR-aligned data design and ensure FAIR principles are operationalized.
- Coordinate with Legal/Ethics & Compliance/Privacy/Global Data Council to align practices.
- Implement tools/processes to continuously monitor master data quality; report on data health and risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Data Science/Business Administration (or related); preferred Master’s/Ph.D. in related fields.
- 5–8 years in data governance/data management in pharma/healthcare/life sciences.
Required skills:
- Hands-on MDM and FAIR data principles.
- Data quality management methods/tools.
- Experience across R&D domains (Research, Clinical, Regulatory, Safety, Portfolio).
- Understanding of data governance, MDM, and data quality frameworks in regulated environments.
- Excellent communication; ability to lead/mentor/influence cross-functional teams.
Desired:
- Regulatory compliance and data privacy initiative experience; familiarity with governance platforms, data lakes, and data warehousing.
