Role Summary

The Sr Manager, Corporate Accounting is a critical role within the organization’s corporate accounting department, responsible for leading a team of accountants across multiple accounting areas, managing the month-end close, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the timely and accurate completion of the month-end close
  • Reviewing and preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, account analyses, reconciliations and variance explanations
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of financial results, identifying trends and anomalies, and interpreting variances in the context of underlying business activities to provide insights
  • Presenting monthly financial results to Senior Management including the Corporate Controller and the CFO
  • Ensuring accuracy of 10Q/K financial statement notes related to areas of responsibility
  • Ensuring that (i) effective internal controls are in place and are adhered to and (ii) associated internal control documentation is prepared and/or updated on a timely basis
  • Reviewing and updating the Company accounting policies to reflect changes in the business or accounting guidance
  • Collaborating with Financial Reporting and the business to ensure proper accounting for new business transactions
  • Facilitating quarterly and annual requests from internal and external auditors
  • Leading SOX walkthroughs with internal and external auditors
  • Managing and participating in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as necessary
  • Providing leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and teamwork
  • Mentoring and developing direct reports, setting challenging annual goals that align with the department’s objectives and their personal development plan, and providing timely feedback

Qualifications

  • CPA or MBA with 10+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a people management role
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Big 4 Accounting experience preferred
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle GL, Smartview, Oracle Fixed Asset Module, Reval, and/or Clearwater a plus
