Role Summary
Sr. IT Engineering Manager, Salesforce & Vault – Foster City. Lead the global IT Engineering function supporting US Commercial Field Enablement, managing Salesforce and Vault platform capabilities for field-led events and engagements. Coordinate with MSP and enterprise IT teams to ensure secure, compliant, high-availability applications and data flows, and drive an enhancement roadmap in partnership with Product Owners. Own the cloud-based data replication layer (AWS S3) and downstream integrations to support governance and operational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and manage capabilities for field-led events across multiple applications and business stakeholder teams
- Work with the MSP team to ensure applications continue to meet business needs
- Work with enterprise IT teams to ensure in-scope applications remain compliant with security, architecture, and compliance requirements
- Own cloud-based CRM data replication layer supporting compliance and all downstream integrations
- Manage and monitor replication pipelines for data integrity and availability
- Define and govern RPO and RTO for business-critical data flows
- Troubleshoot replication failures and latency issues
- Architect and operate the CRM data replication layer on AWS S3, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability
- Partner with MDM, Analytics Hub, Compliance, and Business Conduct teams to ensure downstream readiness
- Manage AWS S3 storage, replication, and cost optimization
- Work closely with Product Owners for Veeva / Vault CRM, Veeva Align and other field applications to ensure end-user experience remains consistent and positive
Qualifications
- Required: 12+ years with high school diploma or equivalent, or 10+ years with AA, or 8+ years with BS/BA, or 6+ years with MS/MA/MBA
- Preferred: 5+ years in a similar role within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated applied technical and functional knowledge
- Preferred: Strong understanding of Salesforce and Vault platforms
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, Glue, and EventBridge
- Preferred: Strong understanding of data replication architectures
- Preferred: Experience managing replication operations
- Preferred: Knowledge of RPO/RTO and resiliency concepts
- Preferred: High level of personal integrity consistent with core values
- Preferred: Understanding of speaker programs landscape; Business Conduct rules around attendance and spend in US
- Preferred: Experience with enterprise platform/application assessments
- Preferred: Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario; vendor management experience is a plus
- Preferred: Cloud cost management and optimization experience
- Preferred: Experience supporting governed/compliant data environments (HIPAA, GDPR, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
- Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Preferred: Strong communication skills to engage directly with business users, IT and vendor teams
