Role Summary

The Industrial Hygienist at Lilly Lebanon API Manufacturing provides technical expertise and support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE industrial hygiene programs, serving as the primary IH contact for multiple areas. During startup (expected 2025โ€“2027), the role is fluid and collaborative to support project delivery, build the organization, and establish systems for GMP operations; post-startup, the role remains the subject matter expert for IH programs within assigned work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing the HSE operational readiness plan for the Lilly Lebanon API facility as an active member of the HSE team.
  • Implement written programs, provide trainings, support IH implementation in assigned areas, collaborate with operations for implementation and troubleshooting, and audit compliance.
  • Serve as a technical resource for programs (exposure assessment, hearing conservation, biological safety, bloodborne pathogens, PPE, reproductive hazards, etc.) including conducting workplace assessments, air and noise monitoring, and reporting findings.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to manage change, ensure safety and compliance of new systems, and help set startup requirements.
  • Help operational areas understand regulatory requirements and implement compliant solutions within their programs.
  • Complete internal HSE audits/assessments, lead/support incident investigations, assist with HSE data trending, and contribute to long-term program improvements.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field
  • Required: 3+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience within cGMP manufacturing (pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing preferred)
  • Preferred: Demonstrated skills in technical expertise and self-motivation
  • Preferred: Attention to detail and adaptability to operational needs
  • Preferred: Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation, negotiation) appropriate for all levels
  • Preferred: Collaborative, high-energy team player with strong ethics and integrity
  • Preferred: Strong analysis/problem assessment, information monitoring, quality orientation, and teamwork/interpersonal skills
