About The Role

The Sr. Financial Analyst is a critical role within KalVista. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team, responsible for supporting the development of annual budgets, monthly financial reporting, forecast updates, long-term planning, and ongoing process improvement initiatives. The ability to effectively collaborate with the Finance and Accounting team and budget owners across the organization is central to this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the VP of Finance and Director of FP&A with annual budget process and quarterly reforecast process
• Assist with monthly budget vs. actual reporting
• Support headcount expense forecasting and tracking
• Assist with management and upkeep of business planning system (Planning Maestro)
• Provide financial analysis and modeling support for budget owners
• Partner with Accounting to support process changes and system upgrades
• Assist with tracking monthly project accruals
• Other ad hoc financial modeling and analysis, as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years relevant FP&A experience, Biotech/Pharmaceutical, preferred
• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial troubleshooting skills
• Good interpersonal skills, including ability to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers
• Experience with business planning software (Planning Maestro, Adaptive or other)
• Must be proficient in Excel
• Experience with accounting accruals
• Experience working with financial models
• Strong understanding of systems, analytical tools, financial modeling, and data management
