The Field Applications Scientist will act as a scientific concierge for current and potential users of our technology, providing scientific presentations, virtual and on-site training for clients, and technical support of Illumina and SomaLogic's Proteomics core products and data. The work requires attention to detail, strong understanding of Illumina and SomaLogic's Proteomics core and associated technologies, and a deep understanding of client applications. Position Responsibilities: Support and train external clients in utilising the Illumina and Somalogic Proteomics core technologies. Perform light activities related to equipment installation and inspection in a laboratory setting. Deliver technology presentations to potential clients. Develop strong relationships with customers. Troubleshoot protocols being run in client labs. Leverage customer feedback to shape future product development. Support our commercial team and our customers with technical knowledgebase and problem solving. Represent the business at conferences and trade shows. Train sales team members on messaging, as appropriate. Respond to and document technical inquiries in SomaLogicรขยยs Salesforce system. Position Requirements: Ability to travel up to 30% required Ability to adapt to change and work effectively on various assignments. Good organizational and planning skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills. Demonstrated understanding and technical mastery of the needs of scientific customers and core laboratories including experience with successful technology applications and study designs. Familiarity with data processing and analysis tools and techniques, with excellent troubleshooting skills. Preferred Experience/Education/Skills: Requires Bachelor's, may require an advanced degree (Master's), in applicable field or equivalent. Typically has 6+ years of direct work experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience. Will have developed key relationships with important customers and suppliers. 10 years laboratory experience required, with molecular biology or biochemistry experience with nucleic acid or protein research techniques desired.
