Senior Field Activation Specialist (HIV Prevention Team)
Role Summary
- Represent Gilead products and services to a defined customer base. Generate and grow sales with non-writers in areas of high unmet need and consistently achieve/exceed sales targets within an assigned geographic territory through in-person representation, face-to-face meetings, and strategic partnerships.
- Establish relationships with healthcare providers and deliver disease awareness, clinical updates, and education; distill complex clinical concepts into clear messages for diverse audiences.
- Territory supports the CA Central Valley (Sacramento, Fresno, Modesto, Stockton, and surrounding areas).
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with healthcare providers and implement a comprehensive territory business plan; monitor sales progress and adjust strategies to meet/exceed targets.
- Maintain expertise in Gilead products, competitive products, and disease-state complexities; promote appropriate product use in accordance with applicable industry and promotional guidelines.
- Partner with local cross-functional colleagues (e.g., Community Liaisons, Market Access, medical scientists, and field teams) to ensure seamless customer experience.
- Model compliance/ethical behavior; ensure adherence to regulatory, state/federal, and company business ethics requirements, including timely adverse event reporting.
- Use influencing/relationship skills to drive sales; perform administrative reporting (call activity/customer info), submit expenses, and manage the territory budget.
- Pursue continuous learning and stay current on technical/scientific information and therapeutic-area trends.
Skills & Competencies Needed
- Advanced communication, sales acumen, technical/scientific proficiency, cultural awareness (including comfort engaging in sexual health conversations), matrix teamwork, partnership skills, ethical leadership, autonomy, patient-centric focus, and account management expertise.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 6 years experience OR Master’s degree + 4 years experience.
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned area; meet any applicable onsite visitation requirements; valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS; 7+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare sales; experience in complex markets (specialty/institutional/rare disease/product launch); track record of meeting/exceeding objectives; experience with injectable physician-administered products; familiarity with managed care.
Benefits/Compensation
- Salary range: $133,195–$172,370; may be eligible for discretionary bonus/long-term incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
