Role Summary

Sr. Engineer - Automation at Lilly's Concord, NC site. Responsible for automation design and oversight for the new Concord facility, managing system integrators, supporting lifecycle management, engineering information management, and cybersecurity. The role drives automation governance across the Global Parenteral Network and the Global Packaging Network, and seeks to innovate with new technologies while improving project delivery and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide automation design and oversight to the delivery of Lilly's new Concord facility.
  • Manage system integrators to deliver all aspects of Automation for Lilly's new Concord facility.
  • Support key corporate initiatives such as life cycle management, engineering information management, and cyber security.
  • Evaluate new technology and innovation trends, leading to the development of proof-of-concepts and sharing of use cases for application within Lilly.
  • Drive automation governance and replication across the Global Parenteral Network and the Global Packaging Network for Tier 1 equipment, architecture, and Automation/IT systems and solutions.
  • Work to optimize and improve project automation engineering approaches by combining technical expertise, best practices, engineering standards, and project delivery expertise.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automation machine control, process control, or related field.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Demonstrated expertise in automation platforms, preferably Rockwell Automation Systems
  • Significant experience and strong problem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/or manufacturing), control systems, integration, and data
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage people and projects to deliver a common set of objectives
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Knowledge in Databases

Additional Requirements

  • Location: Concord, North Carolina
  • Working hours: 8-hour days β€” Monday through Friday; overtime and some weekend/holiday may be required for production support
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 25% during site start-up
