Role: Senior Director of Software Engineering leading digital solutions supporting Research and CMC Development within a biopharma context. Responsibilities encompass establishing engineering standards, building high-performing teams of engineering leaders and senior technical staff, and managing application/integration strategies that support scientific workflows and operational processes. The role involves shaping the engineering operating model, ensuring cloud-native, scalable, and reliable software architectures, and partnering with Product Management and cross-digital functions like Data Engineering and Cybersecurity. It requires translating scientific needs into digital strategies to enhance research and development outcomes. Qualifications include 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 10 years in leadership roles, deep expertise in cloud-native and full-stack development, and 10+ years within biotech or pharma supporting R&D functions. Preferred skills involve familiarity with scientific data ecosystems, SaaS platform integration, and AI tools. The position reports to the Head of Digital for Research and CMC Development, emphasizing leadership in a biotech environment with complex scientific and technical workflows.
