About The Role
Responsible for leading and advancing enterprise portfolio strategy, optimization, analytics, and resource planning capabilities across Neurocrineโs R&D portfolio. Serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership with data-driven insights to support portfolio prioritization, investment decisions, resource allocation, and long-range planning. Leads complex portfolio planning and analytics with significant organizational impact, risk, and complexity. Develops and implements portfolio optimization frameworks, forecasting models, scenario analyses, and decision-support capabilities to maximize portfolio value. Partners with R&D, Finance, Program Management, Business Development, and Executive Leadership.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
- Lead enterprise portfolio strategy, prioritization, and optimization frameworks
- Own and manage multi-year compound flow model; develop risk-adjusted/non-risk-adjusted scenarios
- Develop transition probability models for forecasting, investment planning, and decisions
- Lead executive-level portfolio prioritization and trade-off discussions
- Evaluate portfolio opportunities, risks, scenarios, and investment alternatives
- Design/oversee quantitative models (forecasting, PoS, timelines, resource planning)
- Lead scenario analyses (add/remove/accelerate/delay/restructure programs)
- Analyze pipeline progression, productivity, attrition, cycle times, and KPIs
- Lead enterprise resource planning and capacity forecasting; align objectives with capacity/budgets
- Develop portfolio-level financial models for operating plans and budget forecasting
- Own portfolio planning systems (e.g., Planisware); establish data standards and governance
- Implement continuous improvements to analytics/tools/reporting; drive benchmarking
- Create executive dashboards and Board-level materials; support business development evaluations
- Lead governance forums; provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring
Requirements
- BS/BA + 14+ years OR Masterโs + 12+ years OR PhD/PharmD/MBA + 10+ years relevant experience
- Deep understanding of drug development across stages
- Significant multi-year compound flow modeling and portfolio forecasting experience
- Expert knowledge of portfolio strategy/management, resource planning, and investment decision frameworks
- Advanced experience with Planisware or comparable platforms
- Strong portfolio governance, valuation/probability of success, scenario planning, optimization, and R&D financial planning/budgeting
- Strong executive communication/presentation skills and ability to influence senior leaders
- Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics tools preferred
