Position Description

The Senior Director, Pharmacy Risk Management accounts for ensuring compliant design and execution of pharmacy operations.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

Leadership and Oversight of pharmacy Risk Management Objectives

  • Lead across our pharmacy to ensure adherence to US Legal, Privacy, Quality, Ethics & Compliance, and Regulatory requirements pertaining to pharmacy
  • Lead pharmacy governance process to obtain Legal, Privacy, Quality, Compliance, and Regulatory guidance on existing and new pharmacy programs or solutions, facilitate business decision process, lead documentation and communication of business decisions and requirement-driven changes as needed
  • Ensure audit readiness and serve as pharmacy point of contact for audits and risk assessments
  • Oversee execution and maintenance of pharmacy transactional policies and procedures; seek opportunities to improve customer experience and improve operational efficiency
  • Oversee pharmacy training curriculum requirements, assess organizational training needs, coordinate pharmacy content development as needed
  • Partner with CIQ to advise the evolution of pharmacy quality systems for better results (reduced deviations) and efficiency
  • Ensure adequate measurement of execution against pharmacy quality requirements. Identify trends and areas of risk; lead development and rollout of solutions to drive quality improvement
  • Partner with vendors as needed to ensure that pharmacy quality systems are adequate and execution is meeting expectation

People and Relationship Management

  • Develop an inclusive, safe-to-speak culture and working environment consistent with Team Lilly expectations, the Lilly Values, and program requirements as outlined by Quality, Legal, Ethics and Compliance, Cybersecurity, and Privacy
  • Build strong, positive relationships with leadership peers in the Lilly matrix as well as third-party partners, specifically key business partners in Quality, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Privacy, Global Patient Quality, and other functions critical to program and organizational success
  • Recruit and develop people to deliver exceptional value to our customers and Lilly business partners. Ensure the pharmacy team is trained to an expert level of understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical environment, trends in legal and privacy requirements, innovation in quality systems, and best-in-class customer engagements
  • Cultivate a high-performing team able to operate in a state of continuous compliance while meeting key business objectives.
  • Establish priorities and make strategic tradeoffs to meet business objectives while managing financial and human resource investments. Drive to continuous improvement in base operations to reduce operating expenses and fuel innovation
  • Ensure effective support processes are available to quickly resolve issues, to trend and proactively prevent issues, and to find opportunities to improve operations and team performance

Minimum Experience/Personal Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in a market access, quality, or compliance role in a pharmacy or at a pharmaceutical manufacturer
  • Risk management experience
  • Executive communications experience

Compensation

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$150,000 - $220,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
